Allison Sasso

I am drawn to the simple beauty of objects that are useful, comfortable, and thoughtfully shaped for the hand. At the same time, I have a soft spot for the strange and silly, and I like giving familiar forms a little personality—sometimes quite literally, as in my ghost-shaped mugs. My work moves between these two impulses: making objects that feel good to use and objects that make you smile when you see them. I have studied ceramics in New Mexico and Spain, and since 2021 I have had the pleasure of teaching ceramics at Mud Clay Studio, where I continue to learn from the people and work around me. Whether practical or playful, I want my pots to bring a little more pleasure to the everyday.
